Adopt a KDE dragon
Since time immemorial, the KDE dragons have inspired Free Software advocates and contributors, helping them write better code, educate others about their rights and freedoms, and fighting unscrupulous tech companies with dubious morals.
Now you too can enjoy the company and counsel of a KDE dragon! Contribute €100 to our fundraiser, write the name of your preferred dragon in the comment, and and it will be sent to your home!

NOTE that we will not be able to send dragons from the EU (where we are located) to countries with "problematic" posting rules, like Iran, North Korea, Russia, etc.. If you are in one of these countries and still want to adopt, we can hold and take care of your dragon for you until you come to an event where we are present, like FOSDEM or Akademy.
* CHOKING HAZARD WARNING: KDE dragons contain small parts that may come off if forcefully ripped. These parts can be a choking hazard, hence KDE dragons are not apt for children 3 or younger.

This behemoth towers a full 25 centimeters (10 inches) tall and can support you through the most persistent bugs, the harshest FOSDEMs, and the most annoying flamewars about whether indentation should be done with tabs or spaces.

Adopt one of KDE’s apps and we can share with the whole world how awesome you are and how much you’re doing to support us. Adopting a KDE app is easy:

- Choose an app you’d like to adopt from the list below. Each app can be adopted by up to 5 adopters. We will add more apps to the list as the adoption slots fill up.
- During the donation process, use the comment section to write which app you want to adopt and the name you’d like to be known as. This can be your name, nickname, or your social media handle*†…
- Your name will appear on the app’s apps.kde.org as a Supporter from the moment of the donation until KDE Gear 26.04 is released in April of next year.

Produrre software di prima classe
KDE è sul punto di diventare qualcosa di grande e la popolarità del suo software libero è in crescita. Viene sempre più adottato da giocatori, artisti, professionisti, aziende e istituzioni pubbliche. Ma anche i costi associati allo sviluppo e alla manutenzione di questo software sono in aumento.
La tua donazione mantiene KDE «in attività» e il nostro software sostenibile per le generazioni a venire.
Lasciarti il controllo
Uno degli obiettivi principali di KDE è darti il controllo della tua vita digitale, e lo facciamo fornendo software libero di alta qualità e attento alla riservatezza. Ma possiamo continuare a farlo solo preservando la nostra indipendenza finanziaria, in modo da non diventare mai troppo dipendenti da una singola fonte di supporto.
La tua donazione rende KDE veramente indipendente. I finanziamenti provenienti dalle persone consentono che KDE sia sviluppato ancora dalle persone e per le persone.
Pulire il mondo
Vogliamo tutti un pianeta pulito! Abbiamo lanciato la campagna La fine di 10 perché le grandi aziende tecnologiche continuano a spingere tutti a inseguire qualsiasi cosa sia nuova e scintillante... riempendo le discariche di dispositivi perfettamente funzionanti che diventano terribili fonti di inquinamento quando vengono smaltiti*.
La tua donazione ci consente di informare tutti su come possono contribuire a scongiurare questi disastri ambientali.
* Un esempio lampante: Microsoft ha interrotto il supporto gratuito per Windows 10 su centinaia di milioni di computer a ottobre. Molti di questi dispositivi vecchi, ma perfettamente funzionanti non potranno essere aggiornati a causa di requisiti hardware non corretti. La soluzione di Microsoft? «Buttate via il vostro computer e inquinate il pianeta perché vogliamo guadagnare ancora di più.»
Raggiungere le persone che l'industria tecnologica ha lasciato indietro
Many aren’t in a position to replace their devices every few years, or download hundreds of gigabytes of data from an always-on internet connection. KDE produces software that doesn’t need the latest hardware or an always-on internet connection, allowing everybody find their space in the digitized world.

Aiutare le istituzioni pubbliche ad adottare il software libero
I governi di tutto il mondo stanno iniziando a rendersi conto che utilizzare fondi pubblici per vincolarsi a software proprietario e a sorgente chiuso è stato un errore geopolitico strategico.
Il software libero è di proprietà pubblica e rappresenta l'opzione più sicura per i governi che desiderano il pieno controllo delle proprie macchine e la sicurezza dei dati dei propri cittadini. Tuttavia, spesso gli standard richiesti per l'approvazione del software da parte delle istituzioni pubbliche sono molto elevati e le esigenze specifiche.
La tua donazione aiuta KDE ad adattare il nostro software alle esigenze delle istituzioni pubbliche, liberando la strada ai tuoi soldi delle tasse per finanziare KDE, non qualche grande azienda straniera.
